Pulchra & Pulchra Revisited

Initially created in 2016, Pulchra was a personal visual overhaul project for Minecraft, designed to address the lack of high-quality, up-to-date texture packs available at the time. After gaining significant traction on social media, the first public release of Pulchra saw immediate success, with coverage from prominent content creators that rapidly grew its community.

Following its initial popularity, the pack was rebuilt from the ground up as Pulchra Revisited, with a new, more gritty aesthetic and a focus on optimization to overcome engine limitations and improve performance. This successor project, designed to run with Optifine, served as a foundational case study in advanced material creation and digital craftsmanship. All materials were custom-made using a professional pipeline including photogrammetric scanning and tools such as Blender, Photoshop, Substance Designer, and Quixel Mixer. The project was concluded after several years of development to apply these technical skills to new, larger-scale projects.
